IEEs for Speech and Language

At Arizona IEEs we conduct Independent Educational Evaluations for students in Arizona’s public schools. Our assessments provide parents with a comprehensive second opinion of their child’s educational strengths, vulnerabilities, and special education needs.

An IEE in speech and language can help identify visible challenges, like pronunciation difficulties or stuttering. It can also dive deeper to uncover hidden processing challenges that may be contributing to your child’s broader academic and social struggles.

ADHD IEEs

Uncover the reasons why comprehension, storytelling, and social nuance can be so challenging. Create a custom plan to support academic and social success in the classroom.

Autism IEEs

Take an in-depth look at social language processing that influences friendships, teamwork, negotiation, and humor. Build on strengths to make stronger social connections in and out of class.

Twice Exceptional IEEs

Reveal unique learning profiles by identifying strengths and challenges in critical thinking, creativity, and social interactions. Develop stronger communication skills with personalized strategies.

In-Person IEEs

An in-person Independent Educational Evaluation (IEE) involves meeting face-to-face with an evaluator in a clinical or school-based setting. Your child will engage in a series of structured assessments, including one-on-one interactions and tasks designed to evaluate their speech, language, and social communication skills. The process includes direct observation and hands-on testing, with the evaluator present to guide and adjust as needed based on your child’s immediate responses.

Remote IEEs

A remote IEE offers the same comprehensive evaluation from the comfort of your home, making it more convenient for busy families. Remote testing allows your child to be evaluated in a familiar environment, reducing stress, and providing flexible scheduling without the need for travel or appointments. Though it lacks an in-person classroom observation, research shows that remote testing is just as effective as in-person evaluations for assessing speech, language, and social skills. Our Process

Step 1: CONSULTATION

Your child’s history and your concerns are discussed to determine if an IEE would be a good fit.

Step 2: SCHOOL REQUEST

A formal request is sent to the district stating you disagree with the school’s evaluation and want an IEE.

Step 3: INDIRECT ASSESSMENT

Once approved, the independent evaluator collects data via surveys, interviews, and review of records.

Step 4: DIRECT ASSESSMENT

The independent evaluator then conducts a series of tailored tests with your child addressing your specific concerns.

Step 5: RESULTS ARE PREPARED

A comprehensive report is prepared and a meeting is scheduled to review the testing results.

Step 6: RESULTS ARE DISCUSSED

The team meets to collaboratively design an educational support plan based on findings of independent testing.
